July 2, 2024- 60th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act.

     NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim July 2, 2024, as the 60th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act.  I call upon all Americans to observe this day with programs, ceremonies, and activities that celebrate this accomplishment and advance civil rights in our time.

The vote is the most powerful instrument ever devised by human beings for breaking down injustice and destroying the terrible walls which imprison people because they are different from others .President Lyndon B. Johnson

July 17, 2024 marks the 4th anniversary of the death of the Late Congressman John Lewis! On that day, people will come together in events across the country to commemorate his life work to secure voting rights for all people.. There is much work to be done to make equal voting and other rights and justice available for all. Look for and join an event near you.
