We salute Pope Francis for his courageous leadership in addressing issues of social justice, climate change and impacts on the most marginalized. In 2015 he issued a proclamation that identified the interwoven nature of climate change and social justice challenges. He highlighted the disproportionate impact on the world’s poorest noting they were often first to suffer the consequences and offered the least assistance to recover.  He has urged Governments to prioritize global health and well-being over individual and or national interests. His life and legacy shine light on the aspirations that aim to view all as one human family, where each is treated with respect and dignity.
